Wilson ASA is one of the biggest players in Europe in the operation and chartering of small dry cargo vessels. The shipping company, which was formed in 1942 under the name Pall Wilson & Co. Norge-Rihn Linjen, was listed on the Oslo Børs in 2005. Today, the company has around 230 shareholders and the marked value at the end of 2007 was NOK 1,182 billion.

Over many years, Wilson has built close and good relations with the major players in Norwegian and European industry. This close cooperation is reflected in the fact that 70,7 per cent of last year's turnover came from long-term freight contracts.

The company's business idea is to offer Norwegian and European industrial companies competitive, long-term maritime transport services. By concentrating on large volumes and long-term contracts, Wilson achieves efficiency in its operations and stable earnings. Today the whole Wilson group operates about 110 ships, 75 of these owned by the company. The rest of the fleet is operated on time charters.

Wilson manages its business from Bradbenken in Bergen. The company also has a marketing office in Rotterdam, an agency office in Duisburg and a crew office in Archangelsk. At the end of 2007 Wilson had 118 office employees and around 1250 seafarers.

Wilson is now a sound company. Through long-time contracts and a good balance between owned and chartered vessels, the company views its future earning capacity as sound and stable. the boards expectations for the future is substantiated through the fact that two agreements were made with a Chinese shipyard for the building of 8+8 ships which will be delivered from 2009.
